Please note that the dances below are open to all members of the public.

Beginners’ dance class

• There is a dance class every Sunday at the Thumbs Up Trust Hall (formerly Senior Citizens Hall), at 2 Silbery Place, (off Elizabeth Street, off Jackson Street), Petone. Beginners 7.00pm – 8.30pm and Advanced 8.30pm – 9.30pm. $5.00. This is a safe, friendly environment in which to learn lots of different dancing, and David is an excellent, patient teacher. There is a break during the evening for a cup of tea and a biscuit. WSD members can ask their friends to come along with them. We especially need more men.

Community Dances

A light supper is provided. BYO drinks. Dances start at 8pm.

Naenae Community Dance / Hutt Valley Community Dance

• Held at Naenae College, 910 High Street, Lower Hutt. Cost is $15.00.

Eastern Suburbs Community Dance

• Held at St. Catherine’s College, Upper Bourke Street, Kilbirnie. Cost is $20.00. BYO.

Lions Club Johnsonville

• Held at the Johnsonville Community Hall, Moorefield Rd, Johnsonville from 8:00 to 11:30pm. $18.00. BYO. Supper provided. Resident Band Razzle Dazzle.

United Kingdom Association Dance

• This dance is open to all members of the UK Association and the general public. Tickets are sold at the door and no booking is required. Held at Naenae College Hall, 910 High St, Lower Hutt from 8:00 to 11:30pm. $15.00 non-members.

The George Washington Dine & Dance

• Dance and chat with friends over a meal and drink. No bookings needed except in July and December. Venue is at 233 High Street, Lower Hutt from 7pm onwards. Cost: $20.00 for a main course and dessert. All drinks purchased from bar.
